Today in Sports: 4/28/17 Preview

NFL:

The second and third rounds of the NFL Draft will be held in Philadelphia. The Miles Files will have all your draft needs covered.

NBA:

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks: The Hawks face the Wizards at home in a must-win game. With the Wizards up 3-2 in this series, the Hawks need to win to keep their season alive. The home team has won the first five games of the series, so the Hawks will be favorites in this game. John Wall has been the best player in the series, but hasn’t gotten much help from his teammates in the two road games in Atlanta. Neither bench has been consistent during this series, so I expect the team with the better bench contribution to win. If the Hawks win this game, these two teams will play game seven on Sunday in Washington.

Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls: The Boston Celtics look to close out this series against the Bulls in Chicago. After losing the first two games of the series, the Celtics have won three straight games and look poised to advance to the second round of the playoffs. The Bulls haven’t been the same team since Rajon Rondo got injured. The Bulls’ backup point guards have struggled in the last three games, which has put a lot of pressure on Jimmy Butler. Although Butler is the best player in the series, he hasn’t been able to will his team to victory singlehandedly. He’ll need help from Dwyane Wade and his teammates if they want to force a game seven. If the Bulls win this game, these two teams will play game seven on Sunday in Boston.

Los Angeles Clippers at Utah Jazz: The Clippers look to keep their season alive in this must-win game against the Jazz. Not only is this game crucial for their season, but this could be the end of an era for this Clippers team if they lose this series. Both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul could leave in free agency after the season, which would end this Clippers team’s championship window. The Clippers haven’t been the same team since oft-injured Griffin was lost for the season, so they’ll have to rely on Chris Paul more than ever. The Jazz are the healthiest that they’ve been all season, so pulling off the upset will be a daunting task for the Clippers. If the Clippers win this game, these two teams will play game seven on Sunday in Los Angeles.
